THE RULES AND REGULATIONS OF THE SPORTS AUTHORITY OF GOA

ARTICLE – I

Name (1) The name of the Society shall be “THE SPORTS AUTHORITY OF GOA”.

ARTICLE – II

1. Definations:

Save and except where the meaning is repugnant to the context.

  • “Associations” means a duly constituted association of clubs of units for promoting sports and games and which has a written constitution approved by the General Body of the Sports Authority of Goa.
  • “Authority means the “SPORTS AUTHORITY OF GOA”
  • “Governing body” means the governing body of THE SPORTS AUTHORITY OF GOA.
  • “GOVERNMENT” means the “GOVERNMENT OF THE STATE OF GOA.
  • “Member” means a duly appointed members of the Authority;
  • Sports, games and allied activities shall include the items enumerated below and such other items as may be specified by the authority from time to time. (1) Archery, (2) Athletics, (3) Billiards, (4) Boxing, (5) Badminton or Ball Badminton (6) Basketball (7) Bodybuilding (8) Chess (9) Cricket (10) camping (11) Cycling (12) Football (Association and Rugby (13) Fencing (14) Folk dancing including Bacharj (15) Golf, (16) Gadi (or Atta-Patta), (17) Gymnastics (with or without apparatus, free hard and ground exercises), (18) Hockey, (19) Handball (20) hiking (21) Judo,(22) Kabaddi (23) Kho- Kho (24) Lathi (25) Lawn Tennis, (26) Mountaineering (27) Motor Sports, (28) Pole (29) Riding and other equestrian sports, (30) Swimming and other aquatic sports (31) Shooting (32) Volleyball, (33) Squash, (34) Table Tennis (35) Wrestling (36) Weight-lifting (37) Yog Vyam (38) Yatching (39) Carrom, (40) Tennikoit (41) Contract Bridge, (42) Soft Ball (43) Taekwondo (44) Triathlon
  • “Standing Committee” means any standing committee to be appointed by Authority;
  • “State” means the “State of Goa”;

ARTICLE – III

2. Jurisdiction. The Jurisdiction of the Authority shall extend over the whole of the State of Goa.

ARTICLE – IV

3. Headquarter. The Headquarter of the Authority shall be at the Indoor Stadium Complex, Campal, Panaji.

ARTICLE – V

4. Composition of the Authority (a) The Authority (a) The Authority shall consist of the following members to be nominated by the Government.

Minister Incharge of Sports & Youth Affairs

Vice-President, Ex-Officio

2 (Two) M.L.A.’s

Executive Director of SAG

Secretary Incharge of Sports

Secretary Incharge of Finance

Ex-Officio Member

7.

Director of Education

Ex-Officio Member

8.

Director of Accounts

Ex-Officio Member

9.

Liaison Officer of N.S.N.I.S. Patiala

Ex-Officio Member

10.

6 (Six) experts/promoters in the field of sports members

2 (Two) outstanding sports persons 1 (One) lady and 1(One) gent

12.

22 (Twenty two) Presidents/Secretaries of Sports Association

13.

Director of Sports &Youth Affairs

Ex-Officio Member

14.

Secretary, S.A.G.

The President may co-opt or invite for the purpose if any meeting of the Authority, additional members not exceeding five considering the agenda before the meeting.

(b) Governing Body of the Authority:

The Governing Body of the Authority shall consist of the following:-

Hon. Minister-in-charge of Sports & Youth Affairs and Vice-President of the Authority.

The Chairman of the Governing Body may co-opt or invite to the meetings of the Governing Body from time to time additional members not exceeding five at a time for any particular meeting considering the agenda of the meeting.
